裸聊直播's new student-led society aims to bring together midwifery students for professional development opportunities.
Last week saw the launch of 裸聊直播鈥檚 Midwifery Society which aims to bring together midwifery students聽for professional development events, workshops and social occasions.
At the launch event, students listened to inspirational presentations from Lesley Page of the Royal College of Midwives; Michele Ball on midwifery in Uganda; 裸聊直播 midwifery graduate Sian Ridden on the student experience; and Sue Allibone on midwifery during World War Two.
Attendees enjoyed celebratory cake and raffle contributions were donated to SANDs, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.
Lesley Page, president of the Royal College of Midwifery, said: 鈥淭his new society is really good for midwives, the midwifery profession and the University.
鈥淚鈥檝e met many students who love what they do, who are the future of midwifery and give me great hope for the future. They are ambassadors for both the university and the profession.鈥�
Arlene Oram, a midwifery student and the new Midwifery Society President, said: 鈥淲e hope that our new society will bring students together and give them opportunities to socialise and attend specialised events.鈥�
Students can join for just 拢10 and will be able to attend free and exclusive events, for example a hypno-birthing workshop. There will also be a series of social events, such as a Christmas Ball, to provide some light-relief from the rigors of study.
