The achievements of final year students were recognised at the awards ceremony.
The awards celebrate the hard work and dedication of students from across 裸聊直播's health and social sciences courses 鈥� with course-specific prizes being given among awards recognising compassionate care, exceptional leadership qualities, and achievement against adversity.
student Niamh Stott received The Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust for Pre-Registration Nursing Prize (Salisbury Bertie Bailey Award) for her commitment and positive attitude while on placement at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.
Niamh, who has already secured a job working in a cystic fibrosis unit at Bristol Royal Infirmary when she completes her studies, said:听鈥淚 really enjoyed my placements at Salisbury. It鈥檚 quite a small hospital and it鈥檚 so friendly, the education programme there is amazing for student nurses and it鈥檚 been brilliant.
鈥淚 really wasn鈥檛 expecting to win an award, I鈥檓 so surprised. When I first found out, I thought it was a joke!
鈥淏ut it鈥檚 so amazing that the university has gone to all of this effort for us and it makes you feel really valued. To be picked out and honoured for whatever it is we鈥檝e done is a really nice way to end the degree.鈥�
The awards were opened by Acting Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences Professor Elizabeth Rosser, and closed by 裸聊直播 Vice-Chancellor Professor John Vinney, with a keynote speech by Clare Killingback who spoke about her experience working as a physiotherapist around the world.
With a red carpet reception and networking buffet, student winners also had the chance to celebrate their achievements with friends, family, coursemates and lecturers.
Professor Rosser said: 鈥淭his is a fantastic occasion for the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences.听 Our faculty-specific prize winners鈥� evening gives us the opportunity to recognise the hard work and achievements of some of our outstanding students.听
鈥淲e celebrated students working hard academically, on placement, their leadership and for some, just how they have achieved through experiencing considerable adversity.
鈥淲e couldn鈥檛 be more proud of their achievements, and we look forward to hearing what they accomplish during their long and rewarding careers in the industries of healthcare and in social sciences.鈥�
