ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥â€™s global Festival of Learning has reached its final destination, with a week of events in ASEAN.
ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ staff and students will fly to Malaysia and Vietnam to take the best of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ global and showcase some of the university’s research and expertise to the ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) region.
This is the fourth leg global Festival this year, as the UK university also held events in India; China and Hong Kong; and Berlin, Europe.
The Festival will begin in Kuala Lumpur, where ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ staff and students will be presenting as a part of the British Council’s Going Global Conference. The team will then fly to Ho Chi Minh City where ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ academics will be joined by industry experts from companies such as Vinamilk and Coca Cola Vietnam for a day’s discussion on content creation, retain enterprise and business innovation.
ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ will be working alongside Foreign Trade University in Vietnam to deliver a range of events in Hanoi. Day three of the Festival will involve further discussions on retail innovation, the Internet of Things, and technology in public relations.
The final day of the festival will take place at Foreign Trade University, Hanoi, with discussions on future talent development.
Dr Samantha Leahy-Harland, Head of Operations for the Global Engagement Hub at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, said, "We are delighted to be heading to Vietnam and Malaysia for the final leg of our global Festival of Learning. We are excited to be working alongside our partners to deliver events in Malaysia, as well as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam and are looking forward to seeing you there."
ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ returns to ASEAN for the second time, with the global Festival of Learning taking place for the first time in ASEAN in 2017. This is the third year that the global Festival of Learning has been running.
For 2018, the overarching theme for the Festival of Learning is ‘Global Education 2050: Inspiring Learning, Delivering Impact’. Participants will be giving presentations and engaging in debate on the subject of the future of global education. With the global element of the Festival of Learning culminating in ASEAN, the Festival will then take place at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ in June 2018.
