Charities can learn how to meet GDPR requirements at a free ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ workshop
ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥â€™s is running a practical workshop about the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and how they will affect charitable organisations.
Taking place at the Executive Business Centre on 11 June 2018 from 9am – 5pm, the free workshop will help charities meet their legal requirements under GDPR.
PhD Researcher Jane Henriksen-Bulmer has devised a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) framework specifically tailored for charities.
Jane said: “My research focuses on Data Privacy and how organisations can make informed decisions about privacy and effectively assess privacy risk.
"As part of this I have been working with a local Charity implementing GDPR and devising a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) framework, the DPIA Data Wheel, designed specifically for the charitable sector.â€
Jane added: “I’m really looking forward to sharing the outcome of this work and the DPIA Data Wheel with charities at the one-day workshop next Monday.â€
The workshop will allow participants to understand when and how to conduct a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) designed specifically for the charitable sector. The workshop is free to attend and is open to those working for or with charities. There will also be a free buffet lunch.
