The award ceremony, organised by SU裸聊直播 President Ade Balogun, with the support of the other full time officers and the Democracy & Equality team, was hosted by SU裸聊直播 VP for Education Lenrick Greaves and SU裸聊直播 VP for Activities Lea Ediale, and held at the Citygate Centre in Bournemouth.聽
Lenrick said: 鈥淭he BME Awards serves as a period of renewal for Black, Asian and Afrocaribbean communities to connect with their people and cultures and to recognize how much has been achieved, so that they are inspired to continue creating such spaces and discussions for their colleagues and others.鈥�
During the planning stages, lots of work was put in to motivating students and staff members to nominate candidates for the awards. This year鈥檚 event was well-received with students commenting聽that they enjoyed the night and hoped that SU裸聊直播 would continue to recognise BME students across the university.
The audience enjoyed performances from various SU裸聊直播 clubs and societies, such as the Performing Arts Society, K-Pop society and the Gospel Choir. Nine awards were presented and received, including Most Inclusive Event, Contribution to the Community, Staff Member of the Year and Student of the Year.
