Here at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, we greatly value the research data produced by our staff, students and other collaborators. We believe that our research and its outputs should deliver maximum impact for both the academic community and wider society, in the UK and internationally. Fusion, our way of creating the most impact from our research, brings together education, practice and research to create something that is greater than the sum of its parts; where each element informs and improves the others.
Making research data available to users is a core aim of  and an on-going focus of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥. Formed in April 2018, UKRI works in partnership with universities, research organisations, businesses, charities and government to create the best possible environment for research and innovation to flourish. The provide an overarching framework for individual Research Council policies on data policy.
Research Data Management at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ is supported by the Research and Development Support Office (RDS), Library and Learning Support (LLS), Legal Services, IT Services and designated Academic staff who work as Research Data Management champions in each Faculty. These groups work in partnership with Academic colleagues to develop ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ policy, advocacy, systems and support for managing research data, ensure compliance with UKRI and research funder requirements as well as enhancing access to ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s data.
We are committed to making our research data widely available. Data will be registered and discoverable via , ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s research data repository and linked (where relevant) to any associated research outputs via , ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s institutional repository. Our progress to date on making our data accessible to all includes: the setting up of BORDaR, development of the ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Research Data Policy and Procedures, the publication of a range of  and the creation of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for each data deposit to aid discovery.
