   Retired psychiatric nurse Barry Atkins was scammed £3,000 via a postal scam while recovering from a serious motorcycle accident and the loss of his wife.

6. ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ research shows comic-style graphics can aid in communicating important public health information

   The research has found that the comic medium can be a vital communication tool in sharing important information.

7. ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ ranked joint 39th globally in The Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024

   The Impact Rankings measure the work of universities against the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ also placing joint 1st for SDG12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

8. ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Dorset Shrievalty Award

   Sponsored by the High Sheriff of Dorset applications are now open for this annual activity which provides the opportunity to work on key community projects. Deadline 12 February.

9. New Orthopaedic Research Institute launched at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥

   The Orthopaedic Research Institute (ORI) will work across the university and with hospitals and industry to carry out research that will improve patient care and develop clinician practice.

    ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ experts have conducted a study into how misinformation has impacted the marginalised communities of Nepalese workers returning home from India.
