In July 2019, ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ purchased Chapel Gate from Bournemouth and District Recreational Charity (BDRC). Today, Chapel Gate is managed by ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Community Business (ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥CB), which was set up to ensure that community and university activities continue to thrive.

Prior to its purchase, ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ had been a user of the Chapel Gate site for a number of years, with university clubs and teams training and playing on the site. Chapel Gate enables ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ to create deeper links with the community and further develop a sports community around the area, as well as providing a continuing space for students and students to use.

Governance

ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥CB is run by a Board of Directors, made up of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ personnel and external parties. The ultimate decision-makers for the site, they review its performance and develop the vision for Chapel Gate.

An Operational Management Group, consisting of relevant ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Professional Services staff and key Chapel Gate users and stakeholders, meet monthly to discuss current and future operations of the site. The day-to-day running of Chapel Gate is led by ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥â€™s Head of Sport & Culture and the General Manager, supported by the Chapel Gate team who look after bookings, finances and the maintenance of the site.
