Traveling to the U.S. (ALI Students)
Don't forget to take your visa document (I-20) with you upon entry to the U.S. When students receive the student visa (F-1), please email Yuri Sakamaki that you have the visa.
Have your I-20 with your passport
Students should have the I-20 or with their passport as they travel to the United States. (Don't pack the I-20 or in the check-in luggage.) They will be asked to show the document with the passport at the point of entry.
New students with a new student visa can enter the U.S. 30 days before the program start date at the earliest. If the program start date on the I-20 is August 23, the earliest date students can come to the U.S. is July 24. If students try to enter the U.S. before July 24, their entry may be denied. Even if their entry was permitted, they will be in the U.S. illegally. This may negatively affect the students later.
Getting to Bakersfield and ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥
The closest airport to ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, Bakersfield is Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield (BFL). It's a smaller airport with fewer flights, so the airfare to BFL may be more expensive. The next closest airports are in the Los Angeles area, such as Los Angeles Airport (LAX) and John Wayne Airport (SNA). It's about 20 minutes by car from BFL to CSU Bakersfield.
Currently there is no direct bus service from LAX to Bakersfield. Students need to go to the downtown area of Los Angeles and catch the bus operated by, or. Most of the drop-off points in Bakersfield are located in downtown Bakersfield. It's about 20 minutes by car from downtown Bakersfield to ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Bakersfield.
