ֱ student Mollie Taylor, studying MSc Biodiversity Conservation
“Having ֱ alumnus as a mentor has helped me make the most of my placement through the opportunities to collaborate with many different academics and professionals who I wouldn't have had the chance to meet.”
“I've also learned many new skills and its shown me the many possibilities open to me as a ֱ alumni and graduate. My experience on placement with my mentor has even resulted in me being employed.”
Brian Heppenstall, BCP Council Senior Ranger at Hengistbury Head. Studied BSc Environmental Protection
“We've been working closely with ֱ and their work placements for around 10 years, increasing much more since 2017. We find that having students from ֱ in our workplace enables us to impart industry-relevant information and advice to the next generation of our workforce, helping our university to produce some top candidates for the workforce. We also find that the placements bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to problems and issues, which have developed our ways of working and led to some exciting new opportunities and projects.”
“Another benefit for us is having exposure to the talented students coming from ֱ. One of our most recent placement students, Mollie, has now joined the team and is managing her own innovative project, which is of both benefit to Mollie and BCP Council.”
