Web Governance
Intent
The intent of the Web Governance Committee (WGC) is to lead and advise on the management of all ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, Bakersfield (ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥) web properties to ensure our web sites are in line with the ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ message, visual and brand identity, and meet all compliance requirements set forth by the California State University, ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, State, and Federal laws. Furthermore, work with the Mobile App Committee (MAC) to ensure that mobile application initiatives also conform to our branding and messaging standards.
The WGC will work cooperatively with the campus community to develop strategic and tactical plans to facilitate and coordinate the delivery of our web sites, presence, branding, strategic web usage, projects, and services. Open communication with stakeholders will be encouraged to assure our web strategy and services meet the needs of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥.
Purpose
The purpose of the WGC is to provide strategic direction for ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ in regards to its web presence. To coordinate and support ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ staff & faculty across the entire organization to create content that meets web standards including unity and clarity while achieving our overall ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ and department/unit goals. We are committed to making decisions and recommendations based on real data from competitive audits, usability testing, analytics, campaign feedback, search engine results, and individual feedback.
Objectives
The objectives of the WGC are to:
- Develop strategic and tactical objectives in regards to the ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ message, visual and brand identity, and compliance.
- Define and maintain priorities to support the evolution of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s web presence.
- Ensure ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ web recommendations are vetted and prioritized.
- Recommend to Information Technology Council priorities, allocation of resources, and staffing needed to support ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s web objectives.
