CSU Bakersfield is in the process of developing a strategic energy plan, with a goal of increasing use of renewable energy sources, making use of energy efficiency improvements to campus, and implementing advanced energy innovations in future campus construction.

Solar panels

ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ flipped the switch on its all-new solar panels in 2011. The $9.5 million project was paid for by SunEdison, part of a public-private partnership with 15 CSU campuses to build solar power projects. The 1-megawatt system provided 12% of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥'s total energy use in 2020.
